A lesson which enables secondary students to investigate the modern epidemic of loneliness, it's link to increased use of social media, how loneliness affects our health and what we can do to combat it. Created to help cover 2024 DfE and PSHE Association guidelines for: Identify and articulate a range of emotions accurately and sensitively, using appropriate vocabulary. Describe the characteristics of mental and emotional health and strategies for managing these. Describe a broad range of strategies — cognitive and practical — for promoting emotional wellbeing, for avoiding negative thinking and for ways of managing mental health concerns. This will last you at least one hour. Everything is editable. Lesson plan and scheme of work the lesson is taken from is also included. Money and Coins - EYFS PSHE lesson. A detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for EYFS/Reception age children. Puberty, Periods, and the Human Life Cycle: Understanding girls’ puberty and how the changes we experience fit into the greater human life cycle. This one-hour lesson is designed for students in UKS2 (specifically for Year 6, though it is also suitable for Year 7). The lesson recaps students’ previous knowledge regarding the changes girls commonly experience during puberty (Year 4/5) before providing a wider context of how adolescence and puberty fit into the greater human life cycle. Created with progression in mind, the students will learn about the menstrual cycle in greater detail than previously covered, before embarking on a scavenger hunt to discover a range of different period products, how they are used, and some pros and cons for each. While this lesson references pregnancy and the fact that mammals must mate to reproduce (Year 5 science curriculum), it does not discuss or reference sexual intercourse. Who are EC Resources? A 25 minute Tutor Time session created especially for LGBT+ Month to reduce transphobia and celebrate diversity (Feb 2019). This is the fifth of six sessions to be used throughout LGBT+ month, each focusing on and exploring the culture and history of a different aspect of the LGBTQAI community, from Lesbians (L) to Intersex (I). The session contains three challenge learning outcomes, slides of easy to digest information, a clip task with differentiated questions, a quiz and final reflection task.
